Title: Scope on gun?
Post by: Rex- on May 01, 2013, 06:48:24 AM
I was wondering is there going to be a scope on any of the guns?
I would like a scope on the mass driver because I can snip aliens long range

the classic zooming was enough and I even wasn't using it. Tremulous is fastpaced game so why would you have scope? For sniping camping aliens? If it would be implemented ingame then it would be almost useless.

Iron sight is often bound to right mouse button and some weapons have secondary attack there. And another thing is that iron sight will block 50 % of screen - not good for us.

afaik games that use scopes for practically "all" have a degree of inaccuracy in every weapon. Fast paced shooters don't generally care about this degree of accuracy, although UrT is a fast-paced shooter and actually might be helpful there, but not in murnatan if the project is following the fast-paced genre.

Well there might be a situation in which ironsights or scope might prove useful: big big maps. Although big maps mean disadvantage for aliens.
