Which one is the latest one? I think the bottom one looks best, because it has no toes. I don't see the purpous of toes if it doesnt use walls.

First is latest. We still deciding what will be best. These big aliens looks little weird with spike legs.

I think the current one looks the best, but the feet look like they've just been folded over, sort of like if you place the back of your hand on a desk with fingers pointing up. I like the little claw also.
Maybe just center the legs on the feet a little more, make claw smaller so not mistaken as a weapon, and paint it pink.  :D

I really like this dragoon:

Maybe it's also animated that the claws from the back of his feet/legs pop out like:

\\ = Nails
o = Feet

\\o -> o//

And then he hits you with the claws :o

They have their reasons why they don't use blender :P If I would have 3DS Max I wouldn't use blender of course.

They already wrote it down 3DS Max. Use blender though if you want to try, it's 4free.

Well his feet looks like if he was in a terrible car accident and got all legs messed up.

The nails really should point outwards, why would he have spikes aimed at his own belly?  ???

the feet and the tail should be longer. I also don't like the big hump on his back.

The Dragoon does have a big hump in T1. It seems more pronounced here. I like it quite a lot.

Some considerations ...

* There's a lot of bug influence in the T1 designs, the claws do clash with that. I agree it needs to carry it's weight convincingly, but I'm not sure this particular design fits best.

* I like the claws, but for consistency it should take it all the way through the evo chain, if the goon has it the rant should also have it, not sure how that'll look.

* If sharp tips for feet, it might appear to float when shadow map res is insufficient, though that seems a nitpick.

* BIGGER TEETH! I suggest some low poly triangular ones (it'll look fine when normalmapped)
I did some of that before and found this basic formula gave the strongest design http://i.imgur.com/lk8s7.png
I'm very partial to the alien teeth, so :P

* They might be murdering machines, but keep some of the cutesy proportions, that's really one of those things that makes T1 what it is.

* Tapering of the middle section on the front legs looks a bit strange

* Using more conic and straight edged spikes on the head might work better, having some geometric 'decisiveness' often helps a design.

We have already slightly new design with new feets. I will post picture later.

* They might be murdering machines, but keep some of the cutesy proportions, that's really one of those things that makes T1 what it is.
That is exactly what we want to achieve.

Last model seems as the best chose for me, but is so much detailed for normal tremulous fast action, In my opinion that could be pretty Adv. goon.

I think the claws should be like of the dinosaur, Velociraptor (if you want to keep the claws).  a few minor, small claws should be sticking out then when it pounces or strikes the main, striking claw should come out. Like retractable claws.

It's nice except feet, teeth are little bit small...

@obli: you mean like alien from aliens vs predator? :P

Legs are to big. They don't match well , they need to get a little smaller as they come down and then the toes/claws will match the size of the the top part of the legs.
