Title: Hive
Post by: mopython on March 13, 2014, 09:53:08 AM
Brace yourself, Spring is coming.
To be honest, we actually kinda like that colour stuff you see on the floor if you go outside. But Spring also means that wonderful air we all breathe will be full of little flying bastards. Most of them can be divided by their life goals in two categories - those who want to sting you and those who want to bite your leg off.

It's not so different in Murnatan, after all. You want good advice? Avoid alien hives, there is a whole swarm of insects inside them. Or at least prepare a proper gun repellent.

Remidns me of the milipedes that we often get here in western australia. Touch them and they curl up into.. well... that.

Great work as always :D

Maybe we'll actually see little black alien bug things, and not just a swarm of black dots?

They weren't dots, they were sprites. They actually animated, but it's only two frames long. I'm interested in seeing how the models turn out, the insectoid 'flies' sprites were horrendous from tremulous.

Is the new hive swarm going be avoidable like it was in Trem? Follows-the-path--made-by-player vs shortest-path-to-player?

It is "Follows-the-path-made-by-player". Make second behaviour is not a problem, but personally I like this solution.

Edit: I mean - bees following still one player directly even other players are around :)
