If the team working on this game is still working on weapon designs, I thought this might make some good inspiration:

The design is originally from Borderlands 2, but I really like the idea with the multiple mid-barrel brakes, blade sights, and self-contained look.  Perhaps some of these elements could be integrated into the shotgun(s) in Murnatan?   :o
