As you know, we are developing Murnatan in UDK that uses Unreal Engine 3 and is programmed in a language called Unreal Script. Its disadvantage is that we don't have access to the source code of the engine so we can't adjust everything as needed or look how the engine works internally with certain things. This has the consequence that some seemingly simple things are made unnecessarily complicated.
On Wednesday, however, very interesting news appeared - Unreal Engine 4 including complete source code is now available for a small fee to all. What was once bought for millions of dollars is now available to virtually anyone and Unreal Engine is once again ahead of the rest.
This month we complete Murnatans basic gameplay techniques and we will give very serious thought over switching Murnatan to Unreal Engine 4. We would have to rewrite everything we have from Unreal Script to C++, but in the long term we can save a lot of headaches and greatly accelerate development. Not to mention the new technologies that the new engine offers.
Stay tuned. When the final decision on whether to go for UE4 or not will be made, we will inform you as always.

I think spending the extra time to upgrade to a true source-code based platform would make a lot of things later on a bit easier.
Take Minecraft for instance, where Mojang has been spending years recoding their entire game to include a Mod API to facilitate third party mods, rather than coders being forced to crack the engine just to get things to (barely) work.
I think that a few months of extra time early on in development will save even more time and headaches in the future.
As long as we can get some pictures and teasers of the game progress once in a while, I think I could wait a little longer for an improved game.

It is a good idea, There is also the CryEngine that is available for rent. It is better? It is more advantageous that Unreal Engine 4 I do not know ^ ^
Otherwise I think a newer engine will better.
PS: sorry for my bad english :/

Machine Medic: yes, I think too.
val350: CryEngine is available for rent, but without engine sources = similar like all other engines. Also we already know a lot from Unreal and porting to UE4 will be much easier that porting to anything else.

Very glad to hear this, sounds like a good idea to switch!

Imagine how greater it will be!
