Title: Sniper Rifle

Hello everyone, i wanted to know if the sniper rifle would shot an "instant bullet" with instant speed (projectile) to avoid lag issue ? (if the dude lag and shot the dude does the hit would connect ? or this will do like he was hit but on the server he will not loose hp since he wasn't at the correct position (seen from the client).

Also is this a bullet or a railgun style "projectile" ?

I'm guessing that the Rifle, Shotgun, Rapidgun, Sniper Rifle, Chaingun, etc. will all simply be hitscan weapons that tell the server to scan for a hit or miss every time they fire, rather than dealing with projectile physics, etc.

About lag - we do not know how this behave in UE4. I think that it will need to be tested in regual games.

Hi,

game & engine programmer here, insta hit traces for weapons are a little bit more complex. Thanks to it we should be able to provide more precision for traces (if you see that you actualy hit something, you should hit it also at server (with reasonably low latency ofc :-)))
