Nobody is expecting you to "roll over and play dead", however, defending a regular troll just because medic is bossing him around is just as ridiculous, and being a dick about it on top of it is uncalled for.

Also, I believe what he meant when he said hit sounds is exactly what you described.



This game attempts to be similar to Tremulous, which uses the Q3 engine. It's not technically an arena shooter, but it should still have some elements of it.

As much Tremulous had nothing in common with Q3 except engine, Murnatan has got nothing to do with an arena shooter.

Fair enough, however Tremulous did have hit sounds like TF2 and Q3.

While I agree that threads should be on topic more or less since this is in Murnatan's "ideas" category, YOU MM should listen very carefully:

Hitsounds on the player that shoots are perhaps-no idea. Hitsounds on player that is being shot are much better, since they make the game more real (not a big concern anyway, :D) BUT they do create more realistic enviroment and thus provide an bit more immersion to the players.

by that I am implying that this isn't by any chance similar to these games THUS it shouldn't really contain such an arcadic part.

Alright, well...
Rota, I love you just as much as everyone else here... but I honestly think it's just stupid to have no recoil at all on anything but the beefiest weapon in the game.

Most modern games have realistic amounts of recoil which, IMO, isn't that bad. You can even lower that a bit and have barely noticeable recoil, like in Far Cry 3 for example. The crosshair moves maybe an inch up (depending on screen size) and returns to its starting position after emptying a clip from an assault rifle.

I honestly don't know how recoil could bother you that much...

Realism... For the sake of it, please... Can we have like, a poll or something?
Preferably one where Loki isn't allowed to Vote.

I have to agree. Even a little recoil would be better than no recoil.
It would be extremely unrealistic to have no recoil at all. That's like having the gun attached to two poles that don't move at all.

I propose we have slight recoil for every projectile weapon when it's wielded by anyone not wearing a [insert bsuit replacement here].
