Worked on a little miniature project today, chopping the windings off of an old, completely useless transformer for the core inside.



I'm going to attempt to build a saturable reactor with the core once I finish cleaning it up.

Should be interesting, even if it doesn't work perfectly.  At least it's something to do while I wait for the metal to arrive for my main project.

This is part of a class I take at my high school.  Two hours to do pretty much whatever I want within reason, provided I pay for the materials I use.

hehe i just been playing with IRB1400 on university last month, those things can do some serious damage .
Also a side story. My father used to work for ABB and he was pretty important guy there but he told them to kiss his ass and he opened his own company and he's doing well now. He told me that whole ABB environment sucks and he just couldn't stand that.
