How concerned are you about this? I'm an information engineering student about to start my graduation project. Looking back with what I learned over the last three years, the UI in Tremulous was pretty bad. Actually, I notice it's pretty lousy in a lot of games, which is a shame because art style and UX are not mutually exclusive.
Especially for Murnatan users should be able to interpret and navigate through the building/evo/armory interfaces as fast as possible. I would be happy to give you some usability feedback if you'd like to help make Murnatan a worthy trem successor!
