Mute will work for text and voice together (maybe even for taunt).

You always can create your own team channel and use it only with invited teammates separated from common team channel with kids
And also if you don't like voice chat for any reason, you can always turn it completely off.

Great, sorry I should have checked to see if it was discussed before. I think voice chat adds to games as long as you can turn it on and off. You can barter with friends with ease because its harder to show if an insult is playful or you know.. an actual insult.
