One of the things I think may attract new players is having structure deployment animations, instead of a green haze that represents a building being put up.

For instance:

 - Turrets unpacking and setting themselves up
 - Defense computers powering on
 - Reactors spooling up and charging
 Etc.

I know I'd personally be turned off by any other game if it simply put a translucent outline in the place of a building, rather than showing the building of it, but I think I'd like to hear others' opinions on this as well.

Yes, we want to create the building animations. There is more ways how to do it and it can be quite problematic, because of ability to building on top of each other, but we will deal with it.

One of the things I think may attract new players is having structure deployment animations, instead of a bluehaze that represents a building being put up.

I think there will be something different from the 1.2/1.1 buildable set-up. Maybe not huge "unfoldings", but at least something better.
