As you know, we are developing Murnatan in UDK that uses Unreal Engine 3 and is programmed in a language called Unreal Script. Its disadvantage is that we don't have access to the source code of the engine so we can't adjust everything as needed or look how the engine works internally with certain things. This has the consequence that some seemingly simple things are made unnecessarily complicated.
On Wednesday, however, very interesting news appeared - Unreal Engine 4 including complete source code is now available for a small fee to all. What was once bought for millions of dollars is now available to virtually anyone and Unreal Engine is once again ahead of the rest.
This month we complete Murnatans basic gameplay techniques and we will give very serious thought over switching Murnatan to Unreal Engine 4. We would have to rewrite everything we have from Unreal Script to C++, but in the long term we can save a lot of headaches and greatly accelerate development. Not to mention the new technologies that the new engine offers.
Stay tuned. When the final decision on whether to go for UE4 or not will be made, we will inform you as always.
