I think tremulous 2 needs a chat server where everyone is welcome to join and chat about tremulous with there friends.

I created that chat so we can all get together and talk, come up with ideas about tremulous and more!

I think these is another great way to interact with tremulous friends instead of going onto the game and chatting there.

(The chat is mainly used if you're somewhere else and you can't go on tremulous, then you could talk on the chat)

IRC is just a place where people gather to chat. On some games that lack games but has enough players online [like xonotic], people can organise games via IRC channels. There' also public skype/ventrilo/teamspeaker etc. servers for some cases such as AussieAssault would have its community chatting on its eclan channel.

Overall, IRC is just a place to chat. There's nothing much to it. It would be sweet if we could also have a built-in client like how unvanquished/"tremz" does.
