Look at our project: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aaagames/tremulous-2-0
If you want to help us, you can pledge any amount of money. But very important is also to tell about it to your friends, post about it on facebook, tweet or mention it on various game communities. Thanks!

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Must arrange some of my funds for this.
I was starting to wonder why it suddenly got quiet in the media section around here for a while...
Needless to say, I am VERY impressed with some of the ideas proposed in the buildings/classes/structures, etc. posters.
I love the new looks for the structures, as well... genius ideas on everything, even if it is only concept art so far.
Not sure how much I will be contributing at this point, but it will be $100+, if I can get the funds in order.
I am absolutely enthused about this project, and I CANNOT WAIT to see it completed.
AAA+
EDIT: I'm going to try for $200, as soon as I can.
PLUSH GRANGER: YOU ARE MINE! <3 <3 <3
-
If i'd be working i'd surely put my money to your pockets but that's not gonna happen cos of my "amount" of money
-
Machine Medic: Wow, I am glad that you like our way. Granger already waiting for you :)
-
Damn, I can't spend 2000 CZK, I'm just a kid :/
-
Damn, I can't spend 2000 CZK, I'm just a kid :/
Damn, I can't spend 1 Zimbabwe dollar, I'm just a person who can't spend money online.
Anyway, good work, bought me over more but I still can't do anything unless let's say, I tell my friend to buy the game for me.
And, that's rota? He's pretty healthy I'd say. I think that's my first time hearing the CZ language. Nice room and those grangers multiplying everywhere. You must be in heaven.

Yes, it's me. I know that Czech language can sounds weird (probably), but if I will talk in english, it would be much worst :)
-
Oh and you should connect T2 Facebook page with the kickstarter page.
Well I have 2000 CZK available, but I'm saving money for a new cpu and motherboard, and if the project doesn't get fully funded, we won't get our money back, right?
-
Great graphic! It is pity i can't spend so much money, but i will try put at least few in it :)
-
Due to the long number of years my dad has built a trust with tremulous and is willing to donate $120.
He's just working right now and will donate soon.
-
if the project doesn't get fully funded, we won't get our money back, right?
No, from Kickstarter FAQ:
When is my card charged?
If the project you’re backing is successfully funded, your card will be charged when the project reaches its funding deadline. If the project does not reach its funding goal, your card is never charged. That's why we call them pledges.
-
So many respect for you and your team Rota...
Make me proud, you will have my €150.
-
Lancer: thanks :)
-
btw, since when was tesla generators a new buildable?
-
ViruS: ?
It is old tesla and new tesla.
-
I don't think the game will get funded.. you don't have enough "solid" material that people want to see.
What happens if it doesn't get funded?
-
I think that project presentation is good.
If Kickstarter will fail then we have to seek another way to fund this project, rewards will be canceled, prepurchase will not be for only $10, release date will not be 2014 and game can have some different features.
But Kickstarter is very interesting experience. We already got few various offers.
-
Yes the presentation is good, but people want to see something from the game, like a minimum gameplay.
-
Kickstarter is basically for projects - if people like it, is funded and project will happen. If not, project is discarded.
So working betaversion it can help, but is not needed.
-
I'm just really worried about the project... 2 days in and not even 1% funding.
I think we're going to need some form of cheap advertizing to get the attention it needs to succeed.
Currently, we need at least ~$1,700+/day to meet the goal.
Tomorrow it will be up to $1,850, assuming we don't start getting some serious publicity right now. No matter how good this game is, if people don't know about it, they can't support it.
-
I have Asked Nintendo to see if they can fund you cause you have potential to make this a great game. ;D

The Forum might say i am a newbie but i am a intermediate player.

That's a real point actually.
Why re-mow the lawn? Maybe...if you could find them...you could partner up with a game company that already has money, just to get you off the ground.
Basically to pull your own weight without something backing you is a high risk.
-
The point of indie devs is to avoid having to cave to investor's wishes during game development, and that's what makes them so great.
Having a sponsor line EA for instance, means you get shitloads of money, but have two-month deadlines, paid DLC, and horrible content changes.
-
ViruS: ?
It is old tesla and new tesla.
Describe it in a different way then. For example, "redone" or "reconstructed blueprint" of tesla generators etc.
Like I said somewhere in the past, you should get someone to check your English before you publish. Just like the previous "comming soon" title, lots of people made fun of that.
I'm failing english honestly due to the shitloads of semester marks being dependant on silly essays, but surely my english grammatical skills are somewhat better than yours.
If you were to hire me to check for you, my fixes may be wrong to some people because Australian spelling can be different (such as colour, that's a common one that annoys me when doing a cvar search in the console). However grammar should be the same.
Long story short: I'm indirectly saying you should hire an English checker of some sort, but don't hire me.
-
but don't hire me.
Who would anyways?

If lots of people made fun then it is good. Fun is good. You should not to be so serious.
you should get someone to check your English before you publish
Raise Kickstarter goal to $100 000 and I will hire someone, or tell me about someone who will do that for free.

There are many people who would want/have been wanting to see a legit sequel to Tremulous, and here it is...almost. And it's the "almost" that's kills most games.
-
Well I am a not Game Developer I would love to be a Admin but that probably won't Happen. :D

Instead of constantly whining and stuff, you can also help.
But you said: Don't hire me, so you don't help.
So instead of whining, give at least some proper feedback, or don't say anything at all.

I'm seriously worried about this project now...
4 days in and we have $545
In order to meet the goal on a linear chart, we would need to have $6666.66 by now.
To meet the goal at this point, we need to accumulate $1,902.88/day in addition to what we already have.
The current trend is about $134/day. To meet the goal at the current rate, we need to increase contributions by a factor of 14x.
Rota did not give us an easy task to complete with meeting $50,000 in one month.
:-X
-
I still don't get it. Did you rota set it to month or it's kickstarter's trick?
-
Raise Kickstarter goal to $100 000
Me by myself or the community as a whole?
-
50,000 in a month?
On an indie game who's freeware younger cousin no one has heard about?
Here:
-items get!-
Your book of magic and your prayer bible, as everyone will need both.
-
I still don't get it. Did you rota set it to month or it's kickstarter's trick?
30 days is most succesfull duration.
-
Well, all I can say is: We're at 1% funding, and we need to be at 13%.
This better be one HELL of a game if we can pull this shit off, lol. :P
I'm doing all I can to try to get some of my IRL friends interested in the project... we'll see what happens.
-
Good. We still have time.
-
I would love to pledge some money, but regrettably I can not. Good luck with the goal! I'll spread the link around as much as I can. If you can get all that money, it will be amazing. Quick question though, would you still continue with the game even if you don't reach the kickstarter goal?

Thanks.
We will continue anyway, but some things will change (price, no rewards for players, release later, probably no LAN support etc.).
-
You should create a simple gameplay and then make a kickstarter..
-
@nomad
I'm sure they would, if it wasn't for the fact that gameplay cannot be had without $1,000 developer seats.

Most games come up with a bit of gameplay before using kickstarter (by using money out of their own pocket), nobody is going to fund a game without any proof that it actually exists. (yes models and concept are is cool but it's not going to win anyone over that isn't already involved in the project)

Look there: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/larrypixel/moon-intern
Kickstarter is mainly for projects. You will place project there - if people like it, they give money = project will be created. If no = project will not happen.
It is good for both sides.
-
No way! Tremulous 2 is now 2% funded!! :D
-
Well, we hit $1,000.
Let's hope we can make it... we're $17,333.34 short.

DAYS TO GO
-
Tremulous 2 is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable.
WAT
-
$10 says Timbo got a stick stuck up his ass and paid 100 people $1 each to click some 'report' button on the T2 page.
It didn't look like the project was going to succeed anyways, so either way, Rota would probably be wise to start looking for potential sponsors for the project, regardless of what becomes of the 'situation' on the Kickstarter page.
T2 is not infringing on any copyright, trademark, or patent laws, and that's that.
Also, Timbo needs to go die in a hole, or go back to being broke off his ass or whatever he was doing before he became a greedy fuck.

I completely agree with this. The Kickstarter was futile, and will be until there's a working demo, sadly. (sadfase)
I also don't think there's anyone that I'm more pissed off at than Timbo right now. I just wish he would pull the dick out of his ass and go back to beating off the other asshurt T1 developers and leave Rota alone.
The T2 team doesn't deserve this, and the T1 team has no grounds for any legal action anyway.
You can't copyright or trademark a fucking opensource game.
-
AAAGames has not come this far to just fall flat. Every project has its ups and downs, and that's where they make it or break it.
It may not happen soon, and it may be different, but just because a load of haters who don't even play Tremulous anymore (and if they do, it's Unvanquished) want to squash real progress should not be a basis for dropping out. Then no one is better than the original Tremulous developers.
-
Well put.
-
what will happen now? poor rotacak
-
I can't say for sure, but most likely, rota will (or has already) look into the closure of the T2 kickstarter page, and begin preparing a list of private funding sources for the project in the event that the page is not reopened, or the kickstarter fails anyways.
I predict many long arguments between Rota and Timdouche in the near future.
-
Firstly we will change the name.
Secondly we will work on our game.
I do not have anything to do with the Tremulous, their developers or anything. I hope we will change name soon, I can't stand it anymore.
