Hello fans!

As you probably know, we hadn't the easiest days in the game development history. Actually we had pretty tough time, during which we thought hard about the future of our game. And after a couple of days we made the final decision:
We definitely want to maintain the gameplay of Tremulous 1.1, but we will not follow the look of original Tremulous. The objects (such as buildings, weapons etc..) will not be made with the original game in our minds. And yes, that by the way means, that we will also create our very own Aliens. In other words, expect similar gameplay, but almost everything else will be designed from scratch.

We feel, that it might be a bit disappointment for hardcore fans of the original game, so let's be clear about one thing: words can't describe how grateful we are for all of your support and the messages we received. We understand that you wanted to play sequel to such an exceptional game that Tremulous was. We wanted too. We also wanted to relive those unforgettable experiences with the original characters from the game. Unfortunately, new Granger, Dretch, Marauder and others will remain locked in the drawer. But don't be sad - there will be new game and new aliens. And we are commited to bring you the same, or even better gameplay. Of course, to create a new alien who will be better than Granger is almost unimaginable, but we have a lot of great ideas and we are going to try it anyway.

1.)  Rotacak, not Rotacat

2.)  Sketchup is a child's toy

3.)   Sketchup files are completely incompatible with Unreal Engine 3, and just about every other engine out there AFAIK.

4.)  I found 7 grammatic errors in that sentence.  I am disappoint.

Sketch up is very good for buildings, not for models. I use 3ds max for modelling. Try it if you're student, it's free.

That's the best way of evading from those stupid assholes. Good luck in future rota & co!
Those stupid assholes developed the game you loved. Added past tense for emphasizing your hatred because rota kept the tremulous name. I would predict that timbo wouldn't mind about the assets if you made the title different before he came out and threw a tantrum.
Btw, what's "co?"

Therefore, Tremulous 2 might have the future (or might not, since it isn't developed by a corporations, depends on what Global Government will decide), but Unvarnished doesn't.

Those stupid assholes did made the game I loved, true, but that doesn't mean I will respect them. I lost respect for them already month ago. They ruined its continuing. That's why they're stupid assholes.

I have lost any and all respect for the 1.1 "developers" that originally made Tremulous.  Sure, the game was fun, and I logged more than 500 hours on it, but after all that has transpired... I really don't give a f*ck anymore.

They are dead to me, and so is their game.  Which is why I'm here, cheering for the development of a newer, better game that I hope will put both 1.1 and 1.2 to shame and make the original devs envious as hell for their idiocy.

Let's be very honest:  1.1 was buggy, looked awful, had repetitive sounds, and had the world's cheapest animations.  The ONLY reason it was fun was because of the gameplay.  With this project, Rota plans to make it look and sound good, and actually support it after release, instead of saying "code it yourself" and walking away for three and a half years.

I had a lot of very good times playing 1.1, and I've got a lot of sentimental memories of it.  But you have to remember, it's only that - sentiment.  When the original devs turn down a professionally developed final release that we have all been waiting intently for for 3 years, and then go on to say that they'd rather see 1.1 die and be forgotten than allow such a project... that's betrayal.

Ultimately, I may have supported 1.1 in the past, but times change, and Timbo would have 1.1 die in the dust and become a memory.

So be it.

They ruined rotacak's "illegal" commerical version. That's why they're stupid assholes.
Fixed. You could also add intellectual theft, but I'm not sure about it with the CC license.
They are dead to me, and so is their game.

1.actually support it after release, instead of saying "code it yourself" and walking away for three and a half years.

2. we have all been waiting intently for for 3 years, and then go on to say that they'd rather see 1.1 die and be forgotten than allow such a project... that's betrayal.

3. Timbo wants 1.1 to die in the dust
1. Tremulous continued development btw, even though they didn't release a version after 8/8/11. They were lacking assets for 1.2 so obviously they can't release it just yet. Also, when did rotacak actually say he'll support it after releasing it? From my point of understanding, his 'support' = shoving the game with a bunch of cvars and bug fixing.
2. You didn't even play tremulous gpp. I doubt you even have tried installing it either.
3. He never claimed that. He just doesn't have the time, or maybe he doesn't care about tremulous 1.1 anymore, but at least he still hosts the trem.net and maybe the mercenaries guild site, and shoved his source up to github since it's more common to host repositories there these days. As far as I have looked, before Yalt got GPP's funko port, I've never seen rotacak share his mod qvms or source with the community despite saying that you actually have to according to the tremulous license (GPL/CC)
