Okay so my first idea is melee human attack, you surely know these situations on Trem1 when you're out of ammo/reloading and he's going to kill you with low hp, just thrust knife/bash him in the face and he's dead

2 types of melee attacks
1: gun-stock
2: knife

The Blaster does more damage per bullet than the rifle. If it was to be better, faster and stronger then it would make the human a bit overpowered.

Besides, how do you envision "gun stock attack" vs  "200hp, 2 hit kill goon primary".
If you are at mele range you are most likely dead anyway and no amount of "gun stocking" is gonna help you.


Pushing for stronger weapon in place of blaster is just you not being able to use primary weapon properly.

1. AFAIK there is one way of judging how much hp alien has and it is done by sound.
2. There were 3-4 (?) "taking damage" sounds used for a goon. Last one was used around 50hp left. Sure, he has "low hp" BUT only when you're wielding primary weapon with relatively high damage to his 50hp. Not some 10hp melee knife or whatever. Not to mention, if he has even 25hp he still kills you with 2 chomps and by going melee with him you are actually making his job far easier.

1. Bullshit nab. Think for a second here. To melee a goon you need to close the distance with him. Sure, If you have a psaw. If you have a pulse rifle you will keep the distance so he can't hurt you. 2 hits and you're gone. Why in the rants' ass name would you want to come close to a goon?

you can easily tell roughly how much hp an alien has if u've played long enough and are familiar with the weapon damage. You realise it's just common sense really. It's not just done by sound.
