When I'll get a job, surely it'll be easier.

I could play APB fine on 2GB RAM, Core 2 duo E8400 and GTX 560 (a little bit of bottleneck, I know).

Could be Ram.

Could be CPU.

Could be GPU.

Need a full list of system specs to give you a definitive answer.
2x 980ti @1.3GHz, 5820k @ 4.4GHz, 32GB DDR4 @ 2.4GHz, SSD 950 512GB & 850 1024GB.

GPU runs on constant 50 fps.

4 GB RAM DDR3 @1333 MHz
Intel Pentium B960 @2.2 GHz (2 cores)
500 GB HDD
AMD HD Radeon 7610m

GPU: AMD Radeon 7610M

It's an entry-level, low power gaming card, but it *should* be able to handle something like the game you're trying to play... APB-R didn't look extremely graphics intensive by any means at first glance.

DDR3 RAM is good for gaming, although again, 4Gb is pretty shy, which we already know.

CPU: Intel Pentium B960 clocked at 2.2 GHz

Not bad, doesn't compete with a Core i-series, but it should work fine for moderate intensity games, I don't see any issues with the game you're trying to play.

My guess would be that RAM is your biggest bottleneck for the moment... some laptops have upgradable RAM, so that may be an option.

A demonstration on how a RAM upgrade is performed.

I got next DDR3 slot, one 4 GB ram costs 37 € so that's not worth it so far cos I've got no money :D

$50 for RAM is nothing.... considering it will probably make your $500 computer run so much smoother.

If I were you, I'd start saving for a RAM upgrade if I was even half-serious about gaming.

I just did a little more research...

I checked Nomad's card, and it's a killer: Nvidea GTX 560.

If you two have about the same hardware except for GPUs, I'm guessing that your graphics card may not have enough power to run the game, if he's running it smoothly.

Unfortunately... Laptop GPUs cannot be replaced cheaply.

I can play APB fine on highest settings, but, my CPU is bad and causes a big bottleneck and now I have 6 GB of RAM.

I play DayZ on lowest settings on average 10 fps :D

I don't think it's RAM's fault in Loki's case. I also have 4 GB RAM on my laptop, together with core i5-460m and geforce gt 420m, and as far as I can remember, I could run APB fine on like med-high settings.

That's entirely your CPU, I can get 30~40, and your card is twice as powerful as my 6770M.

Yes, I know. On my laptop I get more, about 14 fps. I'll probably buy an i5-2550k, do you think it's a good idea? Wouldn't it be better if I bought an i7? I'd use it mostly for gaming, I don't work with any graphics programs. Well I work with sony vegas like 2 times a year, but that's all.

Depends on what you need, but the i7-3770K is the most cost-effective CPU Intel makes in the price range.

Compered to the i5-2550k.

On Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501

Both look like good processors though, and both should be just dandy for the gaming you're talking about.  My i5 2.5GHz (mobile) runs Skyrim at 50FPS, lol.

The funny thing is that I can run apb reloaded on highest but it's almost same fps as on lowest. Kinda weird.

How so? I could not run Skyrim even on lowest, I got like 10 fps with similiar specs to yours.

I have an i5 M 460 2.53GHz, 4 GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce GT 420 M 2 GB, win 7 64 bit. DayZ is the same as on my desktop PC. Where's the problem?
